Herland Report: He is Risen – to all our brothers and sisters in the Orthodox world: We celebrate with our brothers and sisters in the Middle East and all over the Orthodox world, as the holy fire ascended in the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem and Patriarch Theophilos III led the celebrations as the to other Orthodox nations.
The flames then travel to the rest of the world, by plane and sea if possible, to invigorate in the believers the joy in the message: “He is Risen!”
The life and legacy of Jesus Christ is central to the celebration of God’s love for human kind the world over.
The message of the spiritual world joining the material world in the union of God with mankind, marks the centerfold of the Easter celebration.
As this year is different, the celebrations of liturgy happen in empty churches, yet followed by social media and in the heart of millions of Christians around the world. (Feature photo: Moscow. Reuters)
He is Risen – to all our brothers and sisters in the Orthodox world: “All the measures to protect people’s lives and health and support the economy require additional and large resources and reserves. We have them,” president President Vladimir Putin said as he congratulated Orthodox Christians and Russian citizens celebrating Easter on Sunday.
He added that the funds will be used to help those who have faced difficulties amid the pandemic.
Russian Patriarch Kirill, who leads 150 million believers, held a televised service at Christ the Saviour Church in Moscow as people were urged to stay at home amid the coronavirus pandemic.
