“It’s very easy to see America perhaps as a crumbling country. I’m one who is very careful about what I say, because I think the power of life and death is in the tongue. So, I am not yet ready to say that America is crumbling. I would readily acknowledge that America is divisive, if not very divisive,” says Caldwell in this new program, one of the leading spiritual leaders in America and the Senior Pastor of Windsor Village Methodist Church in Houston, Texas.
“In fact, without revealing any identity, I will say to you that one of the former presidents of the US shared with me in a private conversation that he was concerned about the current level of divisiveness in the country.”
“So, I would readily commit admit that there is a spirit of divisiveness in the country. Some would even argue that that divisiveness has reached a level of toxicity. Meaning that you can almost sense the toxic elements in the atmosphere if you would. I am not a historian, so I am not prepared to give you a historical analysis and track a trend per se. But, I will suggest to you that it seems as if persons are retreating to their respective silos of homogeneity. ”
