The current political crisis in Europe is not much mentioned in the mainstream media. While hundreds of thousands march the streets, demanding accountability from politicians, lower taxes and affordability, as well as governments that stop the illegal mass immigration from non-Western countries, the current political elite seem unwilling to meet the needs of its people.
Stability in soft power Europe is declining, with governments losing popular support and frequent leadership changes, exemplified by France’s rapid turnover of prime ministers.
The EU – led by democratically unelected ladies such as Ursula von der Leyen and Kaja Kallas – has lost economic parity with the United States, now lagging by 20-30% in GDP. The U.S. seems to be capitalizing on Europe’s weakening by encouraging the relocation of European industries and talent to America, as seen in legislation like the Inflation Reduction Act and subsidies to attract companies.
Europe in deep crisis: The United States and Europe’s relationship is shifting from one of near parity and partnership to one of American dominance and European subordination. Europe’s economic weakening appears partly by design to create conditions conducive to war and geopolitical manipulation, benefiting U.S. strategic interests. This economic cannibalization weakens European industrial bases while increasing dependency on the U.S.
Two main political camps have crystallized in Europe, as discussed in The Greater Eurasia podcast by Dr. Glenn Diesen and Alex Krainer, market analyst, author & former hedge fund manager:
- The globalists exemplified by leaders like France’s Prime Minister Macron, Germany’s Merz, and UK’s Prime Minister, Starmer who pursue internationalist agendas marked by open borders,

The clash between these camps is intensifying, with upcoming elections in France potentially bringing Marine Le Pen’s sovereigntist Front National to power, signaling a major political shift. This divide reflects deep dissatisfaction with current elites and their policies, which are increasingly seen as disconnected from ordinary citizens’ needs and desires.
Europe in deep crisis: French pollster Odoxa recently predicted that 30-year-old leader of National Front, Jordan Bardella would win the next presidential election in 2027 by a landslide, no matter who his opponents would be. That is, if a free and fair election will be allowed. Judging from the recent globalist interference in European elections such as Germany, Romania, Moldova and others, it is more than likely that the election in France will be predestined.
What greatly weakens Europe is its failed ideologically motivated green energy policies, such as abandoning nuclear power and reliance on costly renewable energy sources like solar and wind. have led to some of the highest energy prices globally, comments Diesen. 35% of EU households struggle to make ends meet.

Europe in deep crisis: These policies have at a horrible scale contributed to de-industrialization, job losses, stagnant or minimal economic growth, and strained government budgets. Yet, the mainstream media remains silent, so that the European population are kept in the dark. They feel its consequences, the living standard is falling, the middle class shrinking, taxes rising.
The uncontrolled immigration poses a massive problem as billions go to fund newly arrived foreigners, who in the Scandinavian countries receive the same state benefits and pensions as the indigenous population who have been contributing to the government through paying taxes their whole life. Many find it to be utter unjust that non-Western newcomers who have not worked one day in the country should receive the same amount of benefits and pensions as those who have contributed to society a lifetime.
As a consequence of strained economies, the degradation of public health infrastructure is prevalent in many European countries that used to have the world’s best health care. In Norway, people with heart issues must wait up to nine months to get a doctor’s appointment. Yet again, the mainstream media remains very silent.
The cumulative effect of these policies has made life increasingly unbearable for many Europeans, fueling social unrest and political polarization.
Samuel Huntington’s 2004 article “Dead Souls” foresaw the rise of a nationalist-populist revolt against globalist elites promoting cosmopolitan identities, as pointed out in the podcast. This divide is now the defining fault line across Western countries, with political leadership pushing economic and social policies that often contradict popular will. The globalist agenda includes aggressive immigration policies and proxy wars, particularly against Russia, which do not enjoy widespread public support.
Europe remains heavily dependent on the U.S. despite being economically weakened and politically subservient, a dynamic that confounds many observers. Across Europe, particularly in Eastern and Central Europe (Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Poland, Romania, and increasingly France, Germany, Italy), sovereigntist parties opposing EU centralization and the war in Ukraine are gaining strength.
These movements represent a realistic alternative to the failing European project, Diesen points out, and could fill the imminent power vacuum as the EU faces potential disintegration. Sovereigntists tend to have a more realistic view of media and governance, often skeptical of mainstream Western narratives.
Europe in deep crisis: The current U.S. administration emphasizes national sovereignty, industrial policy, strategic infrastructure, and banking as tools of economic development. Yet, Western democracies face growing authoritarian tendencies masked as maintaining order, including heavy surveillance, digital IDs, central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), and suppression of dissent. Despite decades of promoting freedom and democracy, Western societies are increasingly questioning the authenticity of these values due to rising censorship, social restrictions, and political manipulation.
Eastern Europeans, having experienced both communist authoritarianism and Western liberal capitalism, are often more critical and less blindly loyal to Western narratives. Freedom in the West has become more an identity and ideological fundamentalism rather than a lived reality, often used to justify geopolitical interventions and internal repression. The current Western system is mathematically unsustainable and likely to collapse, potentially triggering revolutions, civil wars, or other forms of large-scale conflict.
