Milo Yiannopoulos on Herland Report: The Crisis of American Identity and Censorship of Free Speech

Censored Interview with Milo Yiannopoulos on Hanne Herland Report: The Radical Left hatred of Free Speech

In the interview, Milo Yiannopoulos speaks to with Hanne Nabintu Herland about America, once admired globally for its commitment to freedom, capitalism, democracy, and individualism, yet currently fragmented along ideological and identity politics lines.

The progressive left has redefined national pride and identity based on race, gender, and sexual orientation rather than the historic Western principle of equality regardless of race, gender, creed and sexual orientation.

Milo Yiannopoulos on Hanne Herland Report: The First Amendment, originally intended to protect free speech and prevent tyranny, is now paradoxically used by some on the left to advocate for censorship and suppress dissenting views.

America’s foundational ideals are under siege by progressive identity politics and cultural Marxism, which prioritize group identity over individual merit and shared values.

This interview from 2018 highlights Milo Yiannopoulos as a conservative free-thinker, who worked in the same environment as Charlie Kirk, at college campuses and in public debates. He is an unusual intellectual debater with provoking fearless speech that enraged the leftwing elites. He is a New York Times best selling author of many books, who experienced the full intolerance of the Marxist cancel culture.

It is uploaded again – and heavily censored by YouTube, as we are told and clearly see from the lack of views and comments – for everyone to watch the iconic Milo at his best, years before Charlie Kirk and the mainstream conservative movement that is present today. Milo appears at The Herland Report in provokingly honest conversations about the deterioration of freedom in the West, our eroding democracies where the interests of the 1 % is served and the lack of respect for the diversity of opinion.

Milo Yiannopoulos on Hanne Herland Report: Milo asserts that identity politics, emphasizing race, gender, and sexual identity, has replaced the American ideal of judging people based on the content of their character. This shift undermines individual agency by tying people’s fate to immutable traits like skin color or gender, fostering a victimhood culture that discourages personal responsibility.

The progressive left’s approach to equality emphasizes outcomes over opportunities, which critics argue leads to patronizing attitudes and systemic inefficiencies.

Milo Yiannopoulos on Hanne Herland Report: Over 90% of American media is controlled by six corporations, many of which are intertwined with the military-industrial complex, raising concerns about manufactured public consent and war profiteering.

Corporate America has largely embraced progressive identity politics, celebrating diversity in ways that alienate traditional patriotic symbols and values. Institutions once seen as patriotic, like the NFL, have become battlegrounds for cultural conflict, reflecting broader societal polarization.

Milo also addresses the early conservative feminism celebrated womanhood and female strengths, but modern feminism, especially since the 1970s, is critiqued for promoting a victimhood narrative and antagonism toward men. Yet, the Marxist version of feminism, introduced in the 1960s,  has redefined freedom largely as liberation from traditional family roles, often at the expense of women’s happiness and societal cohesion.

The current feminist discourse is accused of undermining women’s self-esteem by portraying them as weak and perpetually victimized, which conflicts with evidence of women’s academic and professional successes.

Christianity historically underpinned the values of freedom, individualism, and capitalism in the West and served as a bulwark against tyranny and oppression. The decline of Christianity in Western societies has left a spiritual void, which has been filled by ideologies like social justice and cultural Marxism, emphasizing oppression and victimhood rather than shared values and compassion.

Christianity faces systematic marginalization in the West, while other religions, such as Islam, receive increased accommodation, reflecting changing cultural dynamics and political priorities.

Higher education institutions have largely abandoned Christianity as their moral and philosophical foundation, replacing it with social justice frameworks that view society through the lens of oppressors and oppressed. This ideological shift has led to a crisis in free speech on campuses and a generational disconnect between academic elites and ordinary people.

The cultural Marxist approach fosters divisiveness and resentment rather than understanding and cohesion.

A privileged elite—politicians, academics, journalists, and cultural figures—dictates social norms and political correctness, often disconnected from the lived experiences of average citizens. Political correctness has become a tool to silence dissent and enforce ideological conformity, undermining true free speech and pluralism. This elite-driven agenda fosters polarization and heightens the risk of social unrest or civil conflict.

Milo Yiannopoulos on Hanne Herland Report: The election of Donald Trump symbolized a backlash against progressive elites and their cultural and political agendas. Events like the NFL anthem protests crystallized cultural divisions, with many Americans rejecting efforts to disrespect national symbols and values. The current polarization pits populist nationalist movements against globalist, identity politics-driven elites.

Freedom, especially the freedom to take personal responsibility, is inherently frightening to many people, who often prefer the security of government support and collective identities. Humans possess an innate spiritual and transcendent need, historically fulfilled by religion, especially Christianity, which offers meaning beyond material success.

The absence of a shared spiritual framework contributes to widespread unhappiness and societal fragmentation.

The conversation between Milo Yiannopoulos and Hanne Nabintu Herland closes with a call to reinvigorate core values of love, individual dignity, and mutual respect, inspired by the teachings of Jesus Christ. True freedom and societal flourishing require a balance between individual rights and communal responsibilities, rooted in shared ethical principles.
