End of globalism: Jamie Dimon, Tony Blair, Mark Carney confesses that outsourcing supply chains was a massive mistake

The current U.S. administration under the leadership of President Trump is now reviving the American economic system centred on industry, innovation, growth and national sovereignty. While the globalist, open border free-trade system is fighting President Trump on this shift, it is inevitably still happening.

Now Jamie Dimon, chairman of J.P. Morgan Chase even admits that corporate America and political leaders failed to grasp the strategic dangers of outsourcing manufacturing to other countries, especially adversaries.

End of globalism: Dimon states that America should have restructured its supply chains 15 years ago to avoid reliance on foreign production, underscoring this as a major policy oversight. This admission is particularly striking because Dimon represents the very financial sector, which historically pushed for globalization and offshoring that hollowed out American industry.

“The man at the very center of the financial system that hollowed out American industry in the first place now says that it was a mistake and we should have seen it 15 years ago. And he’s not the only one. Mark Carney is sounding like Trump. Tony Blair is asking Trump’s questions. The whole rules-based order is suddenly speaking the Trump language. But, if you’re watching the mainstream headlines, you’re not seeing any of this,” says Barbara Boyd at Promethean Action.

Notable figures of the post-war globalist establishment—Mark Carney (former Bank of England Governor turned Canadian Prime Minister), Tony Blair (former UK Prime Minister), and Jamie Dimon—are now echoing rhetoric similar to Donald Trump’s nationalist economic agenda. They are adopting Trump-like nationalist economic language, scrambling to adapt the old imperial-style globalism into a rebranded form that fits the Trump revolutionary national sovereignty agenda.

Meanwhile, mainstream media remains distracted by sensational headlines and political controversies, wilfully missing the larger strategic economic shifts underway, as the media’s role arguably is to shift focus away from that which really matters.

End of globalism: The American System may be described as an opposing economic system to the current globalist, free trade international alliance. This economic model emphasizes manufacturing, production capacity, and industrial policy as foundation of national sovereignty and power.

Globalism in its current Western form may be defined as the post-war globalist economic order based on free trade, open border, rules-based internationalist system, and prioritization of consumption over production. This approach has led to the growth of the billionaire class, who now own almost everything at the expense of the working and middle class in the West.

The American System’ shift to return to national sovereignty and nation states with clear borders and independent industries serving its nation aims to remake the world order to better serve all, not just a small elite. Notably China, India, Russia, the global South are on the same page as President Trump regarding the failures of the globalist, free trade system that has produced a wealth gap larger than ever, and benefitted the billionaire class in an unprecedented way.

End of globalism: At the 2026 Reagan Economic Forum, Jamie Dimon admitted outsourcing American manufacturing was a mistake and voiced support for Federal Reserve balance sheet reduction, aligning with Fed Chair Kevin Warsh.

Dimon nostalgically recalled World War II industrial mobilization, highlighting the massive scale of American manufacturing pivot to war production: From 1943 to 1945, no cars were produced—factories produced planes, tanks, jeeps, and ships instead.

Liberty ships production accelerated from one year down to two days. His description clearly endorses the President Trump American System, the industrial-economic model emphasizing manufacturing capacity as a source of national power, though Dimon does not use the term explicitly, Boyd explains.

Then on May 28th, at the New York Economic Club, Canada’s MP and former CEO of the Bank of England, globalist Mark Carney repackaged economic sovereignty and framed Canada’s economic strategy around tax cuts on incomes, capital gains, and investments.  Productivity-enhancing tax deductions (“productivity super deduction”) and a commitment to catalyse $1 trillion of infrastructure investments over five years spanning energy, transportation, data, and defence sectors. Regulatory reforms to fast-track infrastructure projects, explains Boyd.

What is remarkable about the former Bank of England CEO, free trade globalist Carney talks about national sovereignty and industrial investment in a way that resembles Trump’s rhetoric. The tide is shifting in the West.

As was pointed out in Hanne Nabintu Herland’s “Trump the battle for America,” over 90 % of the US media is owned by only 6 corporations with widespread interest in the development of a globalist, transnational capitalist system that profits from lack of national sovereignty.

The globalist business model is dependent on weak nation states, that easily may be overrun by global corporations that crush the middle class and local businesses.

And globalism has worked, it has reinforced an international economic model that departs from the nation-based capitalist system.

Globalism has produced a system in which around 50 individuals now own over 50 % of world assets, only made possible by the transnational business model that refuses to redistribute wealth when outsourcing jobs to China and other cheap labor countries.

As Trump challenged the globalist elite, who also own the media, he launched a battle on the leaders that for decades have benefitted from the outsourcing of jobs and wealth to China. The globalist business model is dependent on borderless, weak nation states, that are easily overrun by global corporations. In the process, the working class is abandoned.

End of globalism: In addition, former UK Prime Minister, Tony Blair wrote an essay on UK Labour Party’s electoral defeat, questioning traditional leftist economic policies, the very same he helped implement.

His essay titled “The Labour Party is playing with fire over its future,” critiques Keir Starmer’s Labour for weak economic priorities. Blair questioned whether the government should prioritize clean energy or cheap energy, given economic challenges.

He pointed to the tension between rising welfare costs, high taxes, and increased defense spending in preparation for potential war.

Blair, who was responsible for “New Labour” and involved in the Iraq War, is now questioning core welfare, energy, and defense policies, the very instruments he implemented when in office. This clearly shows the cracks in the post-war leftist, globalist, free trade economic consensus.

Mark Carney, Tony Blair, and Jamie Dimon represent central figures of the old globalist order who are now mimicking Trump’s nationalist economic message because they recognize a fundamental geopolitical shift.

This shift is exemplified by recent events such as a tanker carrying nearly a million barrels of American oil to Japan, announced by President Trump—a symbol of energy and strategic autonomy moving to the Western Hemisphere.
