Herland Report TV host, Hanne Nabintu Herland speaks with former director at the Pentagon and Senator, Richard Black about how the neo-con endless wars do not serve the interests of the American people. We discuss how the Deep State military complex, corruption, and mismanagement of funds are destroying the prospects of world peace.
Exclusive Interview With Senator Richard Black: The Senator addresses the long term effects of disrupting countries such as Syria, Libya, Ukraine, the use of mercenaries and what defines good leadership.
We hereby publish the full interview with Richard Black taped in 2019.
It is as relevant as ever in a time where President Donald Trump is revising the foreign policy of the United States, how the funding is spent and in general, public spending in the U.S. and how taxpayer money is misused.
Senator Black is a Vietnam veteran, former prosecutor US Army and director at the Pentagon. His impressive track record covers a career as a military officer and colonel, a pilot with US Marines in Vietnam, then going through law school, working as a prosecutor with the US Army, and retiring from the military and the Pentagon in 1994.
Exclusive Interview With Senator Richard Black: “There was this very dark, sinister cabal of individuals who began to emerge with Herbert Walker Bush. The Republican Party had been the party of peace up until that time. It was the Democrat who took us to war – the First World War, Second World War, the Korean War, Vietnam War – and then all of a sudden Herbert W. Bush, who had been head of the Central Intelligence Agency, which is not much difference of being head of the KGB, same type of thing, he flipped it.”
“Bush said, we now have this tree legged stool where one of the legs of Conservatism is basically war. His son, George Bush, carried it on. The Democrats had always been a war organization, except during Vietnam where some of their base rose up, because they were threatened with the draft. Other than that, they have always been the force of war.”
“So, now you have the Democrats who favor war, and the Republicans who favor war. There is no peace party any longer and this is a great tragedy.”
“They completely control the media. The media is very much like a pyramid. It starts with the Associated Press and goes all the way down. Many media sources cannot have reporters are the world so they look to the associated press. So that becomes truth.”
“CIA became addicted to terrorism when we were opposing the Soviet Union in Afghanistan. We ended up training Osama bin Laden, creating what became al-Qaeda. You generate terror and fear among people and you can topple governments using it. It has become a tool to use.”
“The DIA concluded that CIA had allowed this program to degenerate into a indiscriminate program where they armed all rebel groups.”
“So, you had these false flag attacks where the terrorists would kill civilians because they do not care. They have no regard for human life whatsoever. They are barbarians. They would kill some civilians and then they would photograph it. The media would take it.”

Exclusive Interview With Richard Black: “I had a military career and I fought very fierce battles in Vietnam. I was wounded, my radio men were killed right beside me. As a pilot, my plane came back with bullet holes through the fuselage at different times, but I began to realize the tremendous disconnect between the people who fight, who are gallant, who are magnificent people, and the people who send them to war.”
“The people who send them to war are playing a game of global chess. They have no interest in the American soldiers, and marines, and the other services, they have no interest in the welfare of America, and I am talking as an American. Their interest is in power, wealth, and how they can fit into this global enterprise which promotes war throughout the world and it does it through very deceptive means.”
“The Blackwater style mercenaries don’t come cheap. They’re extremely expensive and the the oversight is virtually zero. We’ll pull out our troops and then you won’t get news reports about the mercenaries. They’ll just do what they want. It’s like the French Foreign Legion. The French finally just got fed up. Not that the Foreign Legion were not very brave, gallant soldiers, but you had this this unaccountable force that was fighting overseas and you didn’t quite know what they were doing.”

Exclusive Interview With Richard Black: “The Blackwater type mercenaries are ten times less accountable than the French Foreign Legion ever was. It should become firm American policy that if we’re going to fight, let’s use uniformed people.”
“That’s what we have 1.3 million soldiers for. Why do we need to go out and hire mercenaries if it isn’t to hide the truth from the American people? They can do things that the American people would find revolting.”
On endless wars: “There was this astounding interview with with General Wesley Clark, who was the supreme allied commander of NATO forces in Europe, the most powerful four star general outside of the Pentagon.”
“He said, we have been ordered to prepare plans to overthrow seven Middle Eastern nations within the next five years.”
“The planning for the Middle Eastern wars began as early as 2001. In 2006, we know from WikiLeaks that the American embassy in Damascus published detailed plans for the overthrow of the Syrian government. There was this tremendous influx of foreign direct investment and it is causing a booming economy in Syria. So, we had to smear the reputation of Syria so that we can begin to cut off that supply of funds.”
On Libya: “The war in Libya fascinated me because I saw us attacking a nation that had been an ally. They were considered to be the most reliable ally in the war on terror in in North Africa and certainly the most successful, the most wealthy, the country with the greatest human rights of any of those in North Africa. When we went in there, it was under the UN under the pretext.”
“The Central Intelligence Agency, from my understanding, was involved in orchestrating the uprising in Benghazi. As soon as we established the no fly zone, we used that as our authority to go in. We began one of the most brutal and barbaric destructions of a nation in recent history. We ran 60 000 NATO airstrikes. Think of the massive destruction. We did not limit that to military target.” Watch the full interview here.
