“Hanne Herland’s main message is that we have forgotten God. The liberals have erased God. Where does that leave us?”
“It leaves us without a moral compass. Without a moral compass we don’t know where we are. In other words, we are morally lost. How do we regain a moral footing? The decline in civic virtues, morality, and discipline–which we experience all around us– always results in disorder and injustice.”
The West without a Moral Compass: This writes Dr. Paul Craig Roberts in his book review of my new book, The Billionaire World. How Marxism serves the Elite.
The decades-long, rampant Marxist influence that culminated in the 1960s student revolutions had led to the harassment, subjugation, and pacification of traditional values and morality, creating an obedient, fearful population, easily controlled by the strict requirement of the current socialist, atheist groupthink narrative.
The socialist tool to achieve the destruction of civil society has always been the repression of free speech for those who disagree with the narrative being pushed, writes historian of comparative religions and bestselling author, Hanne Nabintu Herland in this post.
The West without a Moral Compass: The spoken aim of the 1800s rebel philosopher, the father of communism and socialism, and the hero of the progressive Left, Karl Marx, was the ruthless criticism of Western culture and the abolition of all religion and all morality in a bloody revolution that produced the total destruction of modern society.
The path to a better future, to quote him, was “to forcibly overthrow all existing social conditions, a revolution that cares as little about the human lives it destroys an as earthquake cares about the houses it ravages”.
The irony is that the leaders of the socialist movement (Karl Marx, Engels, Lenin etc.) were extremely clear on their intent to crush Western civil society, even to the point of calling their own followers who would help them accomplish the goal “useful idiots”.

The West without a Moral Compass: The idea was that from the rubble of a destroyed society would rise a utopian, atheist, classless world in which man would be God. Civilization would, therefore, have to be completely ruined in order to be rebuilt with new values.
So, as this “forced overthrow of all social conditions” is nearing its completion in the 21st Century West, causing national disintegration, elite corruption, ethnic clashes and hatred between groups, the abolition of the traditional moral codex has ended up legalizing theft, lawlessness and a ruthless hedonism that does not shy away from the sexualization of children.
The end of Rome is yet again, upon us.
In this context, it is well worth remembering the values that once produced a strong Western civilization—the very values we are now leaving behind.
The work of the Yale and Harvard professor, historian Robert R. Palmer, and Joel Colton in A History of the Modern World is one of the most highly praised history texts ever that has been adopted in more than a thousand schools. It has been praised as “an elegantly written historical narrative, filled with analysis and balanced historical insights as well as its traditional attention to the processes of historical change, conflict, and political transformations”.
Palmer asserts that Christian philosophy was revolutionary in that its definition of humanity was inclusive of all people. Christianity represented an altogether new definition of the value of human life, developing human rights and the value of tolerance as well as accepting differences and the concept of equality regardless of race, creed, gender, and class.
The West without a Moral Compass: Christianity’s influence on Western values is overwhelming, say Palmer and Colton, as it was Christianity that introduced the principle of equality, which unleashed the revolutionary idea that each man, regardless of class, gender, and race, has a unique value: “It is impossible to exaggerate the importance of the coming of Christianity.
It brought with it, for one thing, an altogether new sense of human life. For the Greeks had shown man his mind; but the Christians showed him his soul. They taught that in the sight of God, all souls were equal, that every human life was sacrosanct and inviolate.
Where the Greeks had identified the beautiful and the good, had thought ugliness to be bad, had shrunk from disease and imperfection and from everything misshapen, horrible, and repulsive, the Christian sought out the diseased, the crippled, the mutilated, to give them help.
Love, for the ancient Greek, was never quite distinguished from Venus. For the Christians held that God was love, it took on deep overtones of sacrifice and compassion”.
Even suffering itself, states Palmer, was viewed as a divine path to humility, since God himself had suffered death on the cross. In humility, Jesus gave his life so that others might live—the utmost expression of love. Palmer points out that the early Christians worked hard to help the poor as none before them.
They protested against the massacre of prisoners of war, were strong voices against slavery, and did not support the Roman tradition of gladiator matches, where men killed each other for the amusement of the crowd.
All this is forgotten today, as we descend into the abyss with the implosion of human dignity. Read the number 1 Amazon bestseller, The Billionaire World. How Marxism serves the Elite and discover how we can get out of this mess and rebuild Western civilization based upon the values that once made it great.
