Denmark has become the toughest Western European nation in combating radical Islam and cutting down on non-Western immigration.
The Scandinavian country has dramatically tightened its asylum policies, banned the Muslim full-face veil for women citing cultural incompatibility with Danish values, sharply reduced welfare payments to foreigners, and implemented much stricter citizenship requirements.
This is done to defend the Danish welfare state, retain cultural cohesion and prevent further civilizational fragmentation.
Denmark Radically Tightens non-Western Immigration: Denmark is an excellent example of a country that is breaking away from the highly flawed Marxist multicultural ideology that has permeated the West since the 1960s. The Danish experience marks an end of the multicultural, race-oriented experiment where millions of non-Western immigrants moved to the West and received lavish state benefits while the host country was not allowed to impose its own national values on the incoming groups.
The left wing idea was that once they get here, they will “become like us” and gladly let go of their own culture, since “we represent the end of history”. That never happened.
Denmark Tightens Immigration: It was the Algerian French philosopher, Jacques Derrida (1930-2004) who invented multiculturalism. He came from Africa, was born and raised in Algeria, and became the mastermind behind the racist and misogynist theory of multicultural deconstruction. His revolt against the traditional family, Christian morality and Western society in general is notorious.
Multiculturalism revolted against the Western ideal of meritocracy based on equality regardless of race, creed, ethnic origin. It implemented the very opposite: Dividing us according to race, automatically victimizing those with darker skin colors, while the indigenous white majority were bullied to silence and instantly labelled “racists” if they complained.

Denmark Tightens Immigration: The change in Denmark marks a new beginning for Danish national identity and cultural unity based on the indigenous Danish traditions. At the core of Denmark’s approach is the belief that the high-trust Nordic welfare state can only survive if there is a deep cultural unity and shared social norms. If not, the system will be exploited by fraud, crime and be destroyed.
The Danish government has pointed out that multiculturalism failed to preserve this cohesion, risking the collapse of the welfare state if the cultural fragmentation continues, reports The Fall of Nations.
It was the Social Democrats that opted for the radically tightened immigration policies, which also led to a historic political realignment. “Denmark has some of the strictest asylum legislation in Europe. The country grants only temporary asylum to refugees, regardless of their need for protection. It has tightened laws on family reunion, and introduced policies focused on prioritising deportation, rather than integration,” writes The Conversation:
“The social democrat Mette Frederiksen won Denmark’s 2019 elections on a platform of radical reforms to a stricter migration policies. Frederiksen has justified such policies by pitting the challenges of immigration against the affordability of public services and the welfare state.”
The zero-refugee policy reshaped Danish politics, marginalizing once-influential far-right parties by absorbing their platforms.
Once known as a liberal welfare state characterized by strong social trust, Denmark’s initial assumption was that immigrants would integrate smoothly through welfare access and language programs. However, by the mid-2000s, persistent social and economic disparities, particularly within non-Western immigrant communities, surfaced.
Unemployment, lower educational attainment, welfare dependency, the emergence of parallel societies with social norms that run counter to Danish values alarmed the Danish public. In response, Denmark introduced the “ghetto list,” officially labelling and targeting neighbourhoods with high concentrations of welfare dependent, non-Western immigrants and poor social conditions.
The 2018 reform intensified this policy: social housing was to be reduced by 40% in these so-called “transformation areas,” forcing demolitions, evictions, and demographic reshaping. Policies also included mandatory day care, increased crime penalties, stricter welfare and citizenship requirements as well as banning full-face veils like the burka and niqab, citing cultural incompatibility with Danish values. The Danish public opinion strongly supported it.
Denmark Tightens Immigration: The rise of segregated non-Western neighborhoods with values contrary to the Danes were seen as a direct threat to Denmark’s social trust foundation.
Welfare states with expensive public goods depend on a collective willingness to contribute under shared rules of honesty, accountability and hard work; fractures in this social contract will have systemic consequences.
The government similarly moved to eliminate prayer rooms in schools. Religious practices, especially those associated with Islam, were frequently subordinated to secular norms – seen clearly in bans on ritual halal slaughter.
Denmark now forces Europe to confront a fundamental question: How much cultural fragmentation can a Western nation allow before the foundational cohesion and indigenous identity completely unravel?
