Herland Report comment: Liberal America’s hate object number one: The joint US mainstream media attack on the Covington Catholic High School students who wore MAGA hats (Make America Great Again) to the Pro Life Rally in Washington DC, has caused major outrage.
What really happened at the Pro Life rally, as they were waiting for the bus to take them home?
Why does the mainstream media only listen to one side of the story? Why are the Covington boys portrayed as “white racist, white supremacists, homophobes, slandering sexists”?
“The Covington kids can’t get a break. After being harassed and verbally abused by fanatic Black Hebrew Israelites in Washington, D.C., while waiting for a bus to leave the March for Life rally, they were confronted by an annoying American Indian “elder” beating on a drum and staring at the kids from extremely close range,” writes Joseph Farah, founder of World Net Daily:
This so-called “elder” lied to media eager to portray the kids as “racists” and bullies, saying they chanted “Build the Wall.” The media did what you would expect – libeling the kids as dangerously confrontational white supremacists.
And what was the alleged “provocation” by the kids for this international incident? They wore MAGA hats, a symbol of President Trump’s “Make America Great Again” campaign.
Liberal America’s hate object number one: The entire incident was caught on video, which left no reasonable doubt among people of goodwill that the kids were totally innocent, doing nothing wrong, in fact, acting like perfect gentlemen through the entire trying charade.
The only provocation came from the extremist Black Israelites and the Indian nutjob who lied about his own background to media as well as his motivations for being there.

Just when you thought maybe these young people would stop being criticized, demonized and slandered, the Kentucky Catholic bishop of the Diocese of Lexington has now attacked the kids – Catholic kids, I might add – for not really being pro-life.
In other words, he suggests, these remarkably well-behaved kids had no business attending the March for Life in the first place. And how does the Rev. John Stowe know this?
Because the kids were wearing MAGA hats – a fact that disentitles them to claims of being pro-life. I know what you’re thinking. “What the ––?” Exactly.
Here’s what this leftist busybody in a collar wrote in an op-ed in the local Lexington paper last week: “It astonishes me that any students participating in a pro-life activity on behalf of their school and their Catholic faith could be wearing apparel sporting the slogans of a president who denigrates the lives of immigrants, refugees and people from countries that he describes with indecent words and haphazardly endangers with life-threatening policies.”
So, these kids who have been vilified, victimized and traumatized for minding their own business in the nation’s capital while waiting for a bus are now being attacked by their own bishop because of his own warped views of what constitutes a pro-life position.
No, Rev. Stowe, you don’t have to believe in open borders to be pro-life. In fact, the open-borders position and policies result in excessive death at the border and on the U.S. side due to the inherent risks human traffickers cause and the drugs and crime associated with the crisis.
President Trump, who has been a model of pro-life leadership since becoming president, is being 100 percent consistent in his efforts at securing the border.
Liberal America’s hate object number one: He is trying to save the lives of illegal immigrants intent on crossing the border as well as U.S citizens who are dying from violent crime and drug problems in numbers that make the Vietnam War look like a small skirmish by comparison.
I’d like to hear from Rev. Stowe what exactly he has contributed to the pro-life movement – maybe compare records with Donald Trump. For that matter, what has he done to contribute to saving the lives of people at risk in Mexico and Central America?
What a rude, condescending and sophomoric remark he has made – impudent, impertinent, presumptuous. Worse yet, Stowe said he was “ashamed” of these students for wearing MAGA hats.
Now, remember what MAGA stands for: “Make America Great Again.” That’s the message this nincompoop is embarrassed over.
Just so you don’t get the wrong impression of this phony, he says he doesn’t want to place the blame “entirely” on the kids. He just wanted to assert dogmatically and inappropriately that “a MAGA hat has no place at a March for Life.”
I note that President Trump and Vice President Mike Pence have both boosted and spoken to the marches in recent years. Should they be banned from future events because Stowe doesn’t like their policies on border control?
That’s what he seems to suggest. Here’s what he wrote: “We cannot uncritically ally ourselves with someone with whom we share the policy goal of ending abortion. While the church’s opposition to abortion has been steadfast, it has become a stand-alone issue for many and has become disconnected to other issues of human dignity.”
And that justified targeting again perfectly well-behaved Catholic teens who were threatened with violence to the point that their school had to be closed? This is a very confused and self-righteous bishop.
